LET’s Oath Taking: Things you should know!

Oath Taking Ceremony @ University of Cagayan Valley, Tuguegarao City

Attending the Oath Taking ceremony compensates the gallons of water that comes out of my body a day before this important day where crowds of passers flock to apply for the registration and get their ticket for the oath taking.

Where as, employee and staff of PRC Tuguegarao were very busy the whole day to accommodate all clients who are almost are LET passers.  Even most of these employees didn’t take their lunch, they haven’t finished all transactions due to some reasons which we can’t blame and it is common to government agencies.

In my observation, these are some reasons where clients like me took over 5-6 hrs to finished my application for my license:

  1. No FLOWCHART posted on how the PASSERS especially the new ones apply for their license. All of us are just asking to our co-registrants on what to do which is often wrong just to know the next steps.
  2. From 2 computers in the cashier, only 1 workstation is used just to accommodate hundreds of clients who flock in the cashier. At 10:30 AM they started collecting applications for payments and putting it on cue (first come first serve) which I know was fair where lines of payees can’t be determined. Registrants do not leave their post even standing for 3 hours or more like me just to make sure I was there whenever my name will be called. Because of no megaphone available and the employee who assists the lone cashier has a very low voice, many can’t hear and need to wait for another hour for their names to be called. In the other hand, new comers do not know this scheme, and need to stand in their line.
  3. Manpower is not enough. If there were enough number of employees, or PRC’s admin have planned this registration day very well, we as registrants need not to stand for half a day for this registration.
  4. Not systematized. If only planned very well before the registration day, we haven’t suffered such like this. This was very unforgettable for me- Only in the Philippines!
  5. Guidelines for registration is insufficient. In the PRC’s website, there were no schedule of registration was posted for Tuguegarao’s area. I rely on the hear say of my cousin’s friend from the PRC. Most of us prepared 2pcs 2×2 and 1pc 1×1 picture as noted in their website, but on the application day when we are there, we need 3 pcs 2×2 and no 1×1 picture anymore. The fees to be collected as stipulated in the website were 600 and 450, but most maybe borrowed another extra money from their friend and I need to look for the nearest ATM machine to withdraw additional cash. We paid P300 for the ticket as passes for the Oath Taking ceremony, P75 pesos for the certification of rating, P600 for registration and P450 for the annual fee.

Lessons learned and things you should know before and on the oath taking are the following:

  1. Visit the website everyday after the announcement of the exam results. You should for you to know when will be the registration day, and with this, on the registration day, you will know when will be the oath taking.
  2. You should not rush into registration a day before the oath taking. Because registration is not a requirement to attend the oath taking. Just get a ticket.
  3. Don’t forget to bring all of the requirements for the registration. In the PRC’s website, requirements are posted on the article where they announced the passers. Oops! You should know also the exact date of your graduation day as stated in your TOR.
  4. Get only the ticket as passes for the oath taking. Yes, this is your passes in attending the oath taking ceremony.
  5. You may attend only on the day of oath taking. I saw some attendees who are passers buying tickets from the lobby where PRC staff are there to entertain some lost participants.
  6. It’s only on the oath taking ceremony where they announce the regional topnotchers. A girl from my back where I seated is crying because of happiness and I heard her friends asking “Where you not informed?”, and she answered, “Yes, I ain’t! I really don’t know I am on top!”.
  7. Bring extra money. As what happened to me, I thought it was only P1,050 as published in their website, but there were other fees like the ticket and rating.
  8. You may bring with you your parent/guardian or love ones on the day of oath taking. Many are envious to some passers who brought their love ones with them. Some schools who are very supportive of their passers accompanied them in their oath taking program.
  9. Bring decent clothes. I heard some while we are in the process of registration having a problem of whom they will borrow clothes or money to buy an attire for the oath taking ceremony. By the way, a simple semi-formal is enough to enter the venue.

Thanks to Dr. Faith M. Bachiller and Dr. Jesus L. Nieves, for the inspirational quotes and encouragement for us, passers, to be professional by heart and by deeds.

Effective Formula in Passing the LET

SUCCESS?

PRACTICE DRILLS + REVIEW TOPICS WHERE YOU ARE WEAK + PRAYERS + RELAX A DAY BEFORE THE EXAM

What are the things I did to pass the exam? Maybe some who knew me are thinking how I made it despite of the very limited time to review for the board exam.

It was still I am in a cloud-9. I can’t believe the Formula for my success works in my first time. Here it goes from the very start.

I applied for the Licensure Examination for Teachers on its last day. After then, I just kept the admission notes and examination guidelines in my cabinet. Since I am a full time Computer Instructor, I never had an ample time to read review materials for the upcoming board exam because preparing lessons for my students is what I know which is more important.

Despite of the hectic schedule, It was my decision to take a 1 week leave before the board exam schedule. I applied for it a month before, so that I know what to do in case the administration rejects my request. After which, I have prepared online activities for my students for them not to be left behind from the lessons while I am on leave. It was Friday before my 5-day leave when I bought online a review material entitled “The LETer’s Choice” by MindGym.

The things I did on my 5-day leave are the following:

1st Day – I bring out the examination guidelines from PRC and reviewed the contents. Ooh! I never thought it was harder than I expected. My major (TLE) has too many areas involve. A computer professional that would take an exam about drafting, gardening, cooking, carpentry, masonry, electrical, plumbing, etc was the most challenging tests ever. It was like a kid you taught of how to play chess, and let him compete on triathlon. Haha!

Instead of losing hope, my goal is to know how hard was the exam, and next time for the take-two I will make it to the TOP 20s but I will give my best even I have very limited time. That’s my thinking that time. Before lunch, I went to the market to buy some foods (Chocolate Biscuits, Curlz, Chocolates, Tetrapack Milks, bread, etc).

After taking my lunch, I browse the net for “tips in passing the LET” and “TLE reviewers”. And I sleep for 3 hrs. At night time, doing some household choirs and going to Church. The day ended with just knowing the “hardship of the exam”.

2nd Day – I have received finally the book I have bought online “The LETer’s Choice”. I read few pages from the start, it was not really a complete review material but it was a book that will guide you from scratch (from what are the contents of the LET exam, tips and strategies before and during the exam, practice drills, and inspirational messages from the topnotchers). I eat a lot and in the afternoon, I sleep 3 to 4 hrs. With some words from the author of the said book, my spirit uplifted.

3rd Day – I set aside the LETer’s book, instead I go online for some tips while looking for TLE review materials. I took practice drills to answer few questions of “Professional Education” topic from the compiled notes I have borrowed. In the afternoon, I review some parts of the “Foundation of Education’s powerpoint lecture” which I got from my CPE class. After which, I sleep again for few hours. We went to Church at night time for worship service.

4th Day – I took the General Education and Professional Education areas Practice Exam from the “LETter’s Book” in a time-based mode as if I am taking the real board exam. I test my self on how fast I am in answering questions and lucky I passed the Gen. Ed. but not the Prof. Ed. area. With this result, I concentrated on the Prof. Education part. I finished reading the “Foundation of Education’s powerpoint”. And, I continue answering prof. ed. questions from the compiled notes I have borrowed. As usual, the afternoon always makes me sleep.

5th Day – I went online to check my room assignment on the place of examination. I finished reading the Letter’s Book. I go over to what I have reviewed from 1st day, and read some materials in the internet. I interviewed my father about ideas on building and house constructions. In this last day of my review, I consolidated all of the ideas and knowledges that I have reviewed by writing down those I can remember. I also sleep again in the afternoon.

To sum up what I did on this 5 days leave of mine:
1. I go to church every 6:00AM for personal prayer;
2. I review every morning while eating chocolates, biscuits, and curlz;
3. I sleep an average of 3 hrs every afternoon;

Topics I concentrated for my review are:
1. Professional Education (Foundation of Education, Piaget and other persons’ theories/philosophies)
2. Carpentry/Masonry (from my Father’s expert ideas)
3. Electricity/Physics (online reading)

6th Day – I go to church for a worship service before my travel to the examination venue. Just I arrived at Tuguegarao City, I went first to exact place of examination (Bagay Elementary School) for me to know where is my room. I slept in the apartment of my cousins who are studying in the place. We exchange stories with my cousins and I didn’t read any notes for the exam. Before I sleep, I make sure that all of the requirements for the exam was ready and also my foods for my merienda during the exam.

7th Day (Exam Day) – I woke up 3:30 AM. I walk to the nearest Church of ours in the place at 4:00 AM and have my prayer. I arrived in the place very early but there are still some who are more earlier than me. I am afraid to be disqualified to take the exam of not following guidelines since it was noted that before 6 AM we should be on the site.

That’s all what I have done before taking the board exam.

Isn’t really goodbye to .co.cc?

From “What happened to my co.cc free domain company?” article by Daniel Chun ( SEO Expert )

Dear CO.CC users

Probably, you and I have same question, what happened to this CO.CC free Domain company in South Korea?

Well… around 10days ago, (starting Nov 1st , 2012) , this free CO.CC company’s front page has been closed except login and Spam abuse report link only.

then suddenly, all my 50 SEO site with co.cc domain is falling down one by one and ,,, finally ALL DEAD TODAY Nov 12, 2012

The November 12, 2012 is RIP (rest in peace) day of CO.CC free domain

it is too painful that, I lost all my SEO sites and many free blog sites
Many people suggest that this company will be gone due to the many reasons,
1. hosting many illegal Spam site
2. No one can find out Who is Who
3. FREE is not Trust-able..
4. Google will not index your listing
5. $10 paypal fee for 100 domain name is Scam! since it only last 3 months

Situation is like this:

maybe, many free domain company (exactly saying, Sub-domain Company) offer hundreds of free domain with $1-$10Donation request, ( actually, it is not an donation, you are paying 1sub-domain/10cent . then thousands of thousands people buy this useless domains and operate the site for couple of months, and this free domain company will be disappeared,

Just get the Money and gone forever!

Since this company is located and hosting their domain outside of USA, it is pretty difficult to bring them to court.

Beware of Free Domain offer!!!! or Also, $1 domain offer also ( 1st year will cost $1, and second year, you will pay $100/domain,, Yes, $100/domain —> XXXregister.com

it is always good to have a .com domain name from big domain company like godaddy.com or reputable big company, it will cost $10-15/year , but their service is Always good and stable.

I had a good lesson with this Free domain and Free Zpanel Case ( Free Zpanel is the same, it suddenly crash, and I lost a lot of time to fix this problem)
Currently, I’m paying around $450 for Cpanel License fee and moving Zpanel to Cpanel

also, I’m going to move all my CO.CC domain to .COM domain
But it was good Free Practice to hosting server with Free domain and Free Centos Server with Free Zpanel, I learned a lot of thing + GOOD LESSON!!!

My Parents Always said, “Get the Best One always, even if it is little bit more Expensive, it will pay off” “Getting Cheap One will Eventually Cost more Later!”

Things you should know during LET exam

As I have already experienced taking the teacher’s board (Licensure Examination for Teachers), I would like to share this facts you should know about this board examination. It is advised that you should read first my Point of View article. These things are the following:

1. You may not wear a White Shirt w/ CollarEven it is stipulated in your notice of admission that you should follow the dress code, examinees who are not in proper dress code are not noticed by the proctors. Hmmm, maybe it depends on the proctor.

2. You may not bring a Pack Lunch. Before the exam will begin, there were persons who will visit the rooms and ask you  to have a pack lunch at P50.00.

3. You should bring foods for your Merienda. Yes, you should. If not, you will experienced more headache. :-). Because of foods and water intake while taking the exam, you can think and analyze better than you haven’t.

4. You should bring a Non-Programmable Calculator. I brought a standard calculator where I have only the 4-fundamental operations of Mathematics. Haha! It’s funny when I realize that we are allowed to use Scientific Calculator. Hmm… But you should know the list of calculators which are allowed by PRC. If your calculator is not in the list, you will not be allowed to use it. Thus, you will have hard time answering the Mathematics portion of the General Education of the exam.

5. You should never forget to bring NOA, OR, and Window Envelope. These are the main requirements you must have for you to be allowed to take the exam: Notice of Admission (Admission Tab), Official Receipt of Payment, and Window Envelop with metered stamp.

6. You should maximize your Time. Prior to this exam, you should take more practice drills with time pressure. You should answer each item at most 40-45 seconds. Avoid staying too long in an item. It is better to skip the item unanswered, and go back to it.
